CAT
Computer-Assisted Translation
Using our CAT tools (Computer-Assisted Translation), we create files (translation memories or glossaries) for each of our clients, to save and back up all their translations.
We provide two different solutions:
The translation memory contains all previous translations produced for the client. The more you have translated, the richer and fuller this memory gets. Each time a new document is to be translated, we systematically draw on this memory. When the tool identifies sentences that have already been translated, (called repeat segments), they are then translated the same way, without any need for translator input. The translator always checks for any errors, and will make all necessary corrections.
The glossary lists all technical terms in your documents. To produce it, we conduct a full analysis of your documents. Once the terms have been listed, we translate them and have you approve the translation. Once you have approved the translation, we save it in our database so that the term is always translated in this way in your future projects. This ensures consistency throughout your documentation.
Our CAT software provides assistance for our translators, boosting their productivity. It helps to:
Thanks to these tools, we help all our clients optimise quality and consistency (using memories and glossaries), slash translation deadlines (since we no longer need to translate identical parts, and only revise these) and lower translation costs (since repeats are not billed).
Adtrads works with a large network of translators all over the world and thus boasts a wide variety of specialist skills.
We have translated a diverse range of documents in both general and more technical fields:
